Wildlife DIYs
Whether you're after a quick weekend project with the kids or you're looking to give back to your local environment by building possum boxes, there's a DIY here for every skill level. These projects are a small but powerful way to support our native animals.

Possum Nesting Box
This simple guide shows you how to build your own possum box. The design suits brushtail possums, and with small changes to the hole size and dimensions, it can also be adapted for sugar gliders, ringtail possums or even certain bird species. A great way to support local wildlife.

Floating Wildlife Ramp
Thousands of native animals drown in backyard pools each year but it doesn’t have to be this way. Wildlife can fall into pools and can't climb back out due to smooth walls and high edges. This low-cost floating ramp offers a crucial escape route for wildlife. By setting one up, you're helping prevent unnecessary suffering and protecting local species, especially during warmer months when they’re drawn to water.

Possum Drey
Dreys are spherical nests built by ringtail possums for shelter and protection from predators and weather. Made from leaves and sticks, they provide a safe place to rest and raise young. Building artificial dreys can help support local possum populations, especially where natural habitat is limited by urban development or deforestation.

Frog Hotel
Frog hotels provide cool, damp shelter for frogs during the day, helping them stay safe from predators, heat and habitat loss. Made using simple materials like PVC pipes and a pot, they’re an easy way to support local amphibians in your garden. Perfect for urban areas where natural hiding spots are scarce.
